Job summary

Coal Services Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to oversee the end-to-end payment of workers’ benefits, including weekly entitlements, and to lead a small team in a hybrid role based in Speers Point or Sydney.

The role requires PIAWE experience or senior payroll expertise, strong compliance knowledge, sharp attention to detail, and excellent stakeholder management to ensure accurate and timely payments and ongoing claims administration.

Qualifications

• Experience in workers compensation or payroll leadership.
• Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing benefit payments.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the accurate and timely payment of workers’ benefits.
• Approve weekly benefit payments within delegation of authority.
• Monitor and maintain a portfolio of claims, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Identify, code and process complex payments within the claims system.
• Ensure employment and compensation data is up to date and accurate.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder enquiries related to worker entitlements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal guidelines.
• Mentor and support team members to drive performance and consistency.
• Collaborate to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
• Maintain a strong customer-focused approach aligned with company values.
