Job summary

Communicare WA is seeking a Specialist Behaviour Change Facilitator to join the Connect and Respect Men’s Behaviour Change Program in Fremantle. You will deliver educational group work, informal counselling and case management to men who choose to use violence in relationships.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in human services, facilitation skills, cultural competency and a commitment to keeping women and children safe; occasional travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a human services field or equivalent practical experience.
• Intermediate facilitation skills and group-work experience.
• Ability to respond to challenging behaviours with understanding of underlying causes.
• Cultural safety awareness, including diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and CALD groups.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group work for men to support positive change.
• Contribute to risk assessments, safety planning and case notes.
• Maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Manage crises and emotional distress among clients.
