Job summary

RTX Australia seeks a Battlespace System Administrator to join the Edinburgh base team, delivering critical operations for the Battlespace Surveillance Centre and ensuring secure, reliable IT services across Windows, Linux and UNIX environments.

You will manage system services, backups, cyber security, incident response and disaster recovery planning in collaboration with Defence standards, working a rotating schedule across days and nights.

Qualifications

• Relevant Certificate IV or degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in systems administration preferred.
• Experience across UNIX, Linux and Microsoft environments and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the BSC's IT server and communication solutions per standards.
• Manage accounts and permissions to ensure secure service delivery.
• Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning for infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and perform updates, patches and configuration tasks.
• Install and manage firewall/IDS systems and handle backups and recoveries.
• Coordinate with depot maintenance and provide advanced troubleshooting.
