Job summary

Petstock Darwin Pty Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Pet Groomer to provide outstanding grooming services within our Darwin store. You will bathe, brush, and groom dogs, support the Senior Groomer, and help deliver memorable customer experiences.

You’ll work with a team dedicated to pets, people and planet, with flexible weekend hours and safety-focused culture. Previous grooming or retail experience is valued; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Passion for animals and delivering excellent customer service.
• Comfort around dogs with varied temperaments.
• Motivated to grow as a professional groomer.
• A relevant qualification is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in grooming or retail environment.
• Ability to handle dogs safely and lift up to 20 kg.
• Willing to work weekends and public holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer rapport.

A Peek Into Your Petstock Day

• Provide outstanding grooming services
• Support the Senior Groomer in completing daily grooming tasks
• Bathe and brush dogs prior to grooming
• Assist store shop floor team when required, providing exceptional customer service where you and your customer will have memorable, meaningful interactions
• Assist with the coordination of customer bookings in the grooming salon
• Ensure the appropriate handling and safe transfer of animals within the store
• Work with the team to achieve and exceed set sales goals
• Strong safety mindset with commitment to create a culture of safety within your team

Qualifications

• A passion for animals and providing the best customer service
• Confident being around animals as you will be exposed to dogs with lots of different personalities
• Motivated to take that next step in your career and willing to work hard to become the best Groomer you can be
• A relevant qualification is preferred but not essential - as long as you bring a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn!
• Experience in a similar environment
• Our dog customers come in all shapes, sizes and weight, so you will need to be physically fit and have a good understanding of dog behaviours to ensure all interactions are safe for you and your customers
• Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales target
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and rapport with customers and the team
• Physically fit, with ability to lift products and animals up to 20kgs
• Flexibility and ability to work weekends and public holidays
