Job summary

Petstock SO Regional Pty Ltd is hiring a Groomer to deliver top-notch grooming services and support in-store teams in Australia. You’ll bathe, brush, and prepare dogs for grooming, assist with bookings, and help maintain a welcoming, safe environment for pets and people alike.

We value passion for animals, customer service excellence, and the willingness to grow with our Petstock Group. Weekend availability and physical fitness are important in this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion for animals and delivering excellent customer service.
• Comfort around dogs with varied temperaments and sizes.
• Willingness to learn and grow as a groomer and in-store roles.
• Experience in a similar environment is advantageous.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg and maintain a safe, high-energy grooming area.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding grooming services.
• Support the Senior Groomer with daily grooming tasks.
• Bathe and brush dogs prior to grooming sessions.
• Assist the shop floor team with customer service and interactions.
• Coordinate customer bookings in the grooming salon.
• Ensure safe handling and transfer of animals within store.
• Collaborate to achieve and exceed sales goals.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset and culture.

A Peek Into Your Petstock Day

• Provide outstanding grooming services
• Support the Senior Groomer in completing daily grooming tasks
• Bathe and brush dogs prior to grooming
• Assist store shop floor team when required, providing exceptional customer service where you and your customer will have memorable, meaningful interactions
• Assist with the coordination of customer bookings in the grooming salon
• Ensure the appropriate handling and safe transfer of animals within the store
• Work with the team to achieve and exceed set sales goals

• A passion for animals and providing the best customer service
• Confident being around animals as you will be exposed to dogs with lots of different personalities
• Motivated to take that next step in your career and willing to work hard to become the best Groomer you can be
• A relevant qualification is preferred but not essential - as long as you bring a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn!
• Experience in a similar environment
• Our dog customers come in all shapes, sizes and weight, so you will need to be physically fit and have a good understanding of dog behaviours to ensure all interactions are safe for you and your customers
• Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales target
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and rapport with customers and the team
• Physically fit, with ability to lift products and animals up to 20kgs
• Flexibility and ability to work weekends and public holidays
