Job summary

Ovolo Melbourne (South Yarra) invites a vibrant bar team member to craft cocktails, pour beers, and manage coffee-based beverages with flair. You will work within the South Yarra venue, delivering friendly, high-energy service in a fast-paced setting.

Ideally 1–2 years’ experience making and serving quality coffee and drinks, with latte-art knowledge as a bonus. You’ll thrive on teamwork and initiative in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience making and serving high-quality coffee, beverages and light food items.
• Good communication and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Latte-art knowledge is advantageous to the role.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all guest alcohol orders quickly and efficiently.
• Showcase talent by preparing cocktails and serving beer, wine, and spirits.
• Work closely with the barista team and assist other sections as required.
• Ensure correct measures of beverages are served in line with RSA and relevant laws.
• Serve guests promptly and accurately, noting preferences for future visits.
• Familiarise with menus, wine lists and other beverages.
• Encourage guest feedback to update guest history for better service.

The Gig

Responsibilities

• Quickly and efficiently attend to all guest alcohol orders
• Showcase your talent by performing great cocktail, serving beer, wine, spirits
• Perform outstanding teamwork among the barista team, and assist other sections as required
• Ensure that the correct amounts and measurements of alcoholic beverages are served to guests in Responsible Service of Alcohol and all relevant legislation
• Serve guests promptly and accurately, according to their order, accommodating any reasonable request, being diligent in relation to allergies/dislikes and noting preferences for future visits
• Familiarise yourself with restaurant products and services including full knowledge of menus, wine lists and other beverages
• Encourage feedback from our guests, to update and maintain guest history records, enabling us to anticipate the needs of our guests
• Demonstrate a good knowledge of the local area and continually update knowledge of the latest trends
