Job summary

Crystalbrook Riley in Cairns is seeking a passionate bartender to join the rooftop bar team. The role focuses on crafting balanced cocktails, providing expert recommendations and delivering guest experiences with warmth and precision.

Part-time position, 24–38 hours per week, with evenings, weekends and public holidays. You will work with the F&B team to maintain a high-energy service environment and contribute ideas for seasonal drinks.

Qualifications

• Experience bartending in premium/high-volume settings.
• RSA certificate from Queensland or recognized body.
• Ability to balance creativity with precision and consistency.
• Comfort working across evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Craft beautifully balanced drinks and advise guests on selections.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised bar and smooth service flow.

The Opportunity:

Bring your flair for cocktails to Rocco, where rooftop views meet drinks with character. At Crystalbrook Riley, you will be part of the evenings our guests come to Cairns for, from a sunset overlooking the Coral Sea to a signature cocktail worth staying a little longer for.

Reporting to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will bring care and confidence to every service, crafting beautifully balanced drinks and sharing recommendations that make choosing something new feel easy. Working alongside our Food and Beverage team, you will keep the bar looking its best and service running smoothly, with responsible service and thoughtful use of ingredients front of mind. This is a part-time position offering 24-38 hours per week.

The Talent:

You care about what goes into the glass and how guests feel when it reaches them. You enjoy talking drinks, discovering new flavours and making people feel welcome. When the bar gets busy, you stay organised and support the people beside you.

You will bring:

• Previous bartending experience in a premium or high-volume bar, restaurant or hotel
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wines and spirits
• Confident cocktail-making skills, balancing creativity with precision and consistency
• A current QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
• Experience using point-of-sale systems and supporting stock control
• An engaging communication style and confidence recommending drinks to suit different tastes
• Professional presentation and pride in a clean, well-organised bar
• Availability across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
