Job summary

The EQ Hotel Management Pty Ltd in Perth is opening Sky Lounge and seeking a Barista/Bartender to join the founding team. You will deliver friendly, professional service across bar, café and restaurant, crafting high-quality coffee and beverages and supporting floor service as needed.

You will work under the F&B Supervisor and Venue Manager, contributing to pre-opening setup, training and venue activation activities while maintaining a clean workstation and engaging with guests.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Barista or Bartender in a restaurant/bar.
• Strong skills in coffee preparation and beverage service.
• RSA and Food Handler certificates are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve quality coffee, cocktails, wines, beers, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Deliver warm, attentive and professional guest service.
• Take accurate orders and confidently recommend food and beverage offerings.
• Maintain bar and café cleanliness, presentation, stock and equipment readiness.
• Follow recipes, specifications, portion controls and service standards.
• Support smooth service flow during busy periods and assist with restaurant floor service as required.
• Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks and waste minimisation.
• Follow RSA, liquor licensing, food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.
• Support pre-opening setup, training, service trials and venue activation activities.

Located within the Capital Square precinct above Elizabeth Quay, our Sky Lounge offers breathtaking 360° views of Perth's city skyline and the Swan River, creating one of the city's most exciting dining destinations.

We are preparing to open and are looking for an experienced Barista / Bartender to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help create a polished, welcoming and memorable guest experience from day one.

About the Role

Reporting to the F&B Supervisor and Venue Manager, you will deliver friendly, professional and efficient service across the bar, café and restaurant.

You will prepare consistently high-quality coffee and beverages, engage confidently with guests and maintain a clean, well-organised workstation. You will also support floor service when required, working closely with the wider Restaurants & Bars team to ensure smooth service throughout the venue.

Key Responsibilities

The Successful Candidate Will Possess

Previous experience as a Barista, Bartender or in a similar food and beverage role within a restaurant and bar.

Strong barista skills and confidence producing quality coffee consistently.

Bartending experience, including beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.

A genuine passion for hospitality and creating meaningful guest connections.

Strong communication skills and a polished, professional presentation.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

Current RSA and Food Handler certificates.

Experience using POS systems is preferred.
