Job summary

YHA Australia is seeking an energetic Bar Attendant to support bar operations and create a relaxed, fun vibe at the Sydney Harbour location. You’ll engage with guests, prepare drinks, and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Ideal candidates have bar experience, broad beverage knowledge, a valid RSA, and availability for a 7-day roster, with opportunities to engage in promotional activities and team development at a premier hostel site.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a bar and a passion for travel.
• Exceptional beverage knowledge, including wines, beers, spirits, cocktails etc.
• A current RSA.
• Understanding of ordering and stocktake procedures.
• Availability to work a 7-day roster.

Responsibilities

• Engaging with guests and performers in the bar.
• Serving food and beverage in the bar including cocktail making and advising guests on beverage selection.
• Bar Operations: supporting the Bar Manager with pricing, stock control, ordering, hands-on management and maintaining the highest possible standard of customer service.
• Marketing and Promotion: organising and coordinating nightly activities and entertainment as well as working with external promoters and representatives.
• Compliance: operating in line with the approved liquor licence, WHS and RSA requirements.

The Job
