Job summary

Delaware North Australia is hiring a casual Commis Chef to join our banquets team at Mindil Beach Casino Resort in Darwin, NT. As a Commis Chef you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred.
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding
• A passion for food and creative flair
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs
• Available to be rostered over a 7-day roster including weekends, evenings/nights and public holidays if required

Responsibilities

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting
• Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards
• Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination
