Job summary

Fairbairn Bakery in Emerald is seeking an experienced Baker Pastry Cook to join a family-owned business with a strong local presence. The role offers relocation support and temporary accommodation if required, with an above industry salary to attract skilled pastry professionals.

You will be preparing breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods, starting early mornings and sharing weekend shifts. Leadership of junior staff and production planning are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Pastry Cook.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices.
• Have a great presentation on cake decorating and writing on cakes.
• Energetic passion towards baking and providing amazing quality products to the community, wholesale and tourist customers.
• Very trustworthy and reliable person able to work unsupervised.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

About the role

As a Baker Pastry Cook at Fairbairn Bakery in Emerald, you will be joining a family owned business with over 70 employees and over 11 production team members baking in 3 production centres. We are looking for talented, reliable pastry cooks to join our amazing team as we continue to grow this very successful business. We offer a generous salary, relocation allowance and temporary accommodation if required.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, slices and other baked goods to the highest quality standards
• Monday to Friday 4am starts and rotating weekend shifts shared
• Creation of baking production sheets to meet daily baking volumes on orders

What we offer

Located in Emerald, we offer a relocation allowance and up to 3 months temporary share accommodation for a single or couple. An above industry salary to attract great people.
