Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc in Sydney is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Portfolio Engine team to build backend services that manage entitlements, subscriptions, and the commercial state of Splunk's cloud products. You will work closely with product owners and partner teams to deliver reliable APIs and services.

You will participate in on-call rotations and collaborate across cross-functional teams to improve workflows, tooling, and engineering practices while helping ensure platform reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's + 2 years of related experience OR Master's + 0 years of related experience.
• Requires basic knowledge of backend technologies, such as Go, Python, or associated ecosystems; exposure to current technologies through coursework or internship
• Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams and communicate complex ideas clearly

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs that manage customer entitlements, subscriptions, and commercial state across Splunk's cloud product portfolio
• Contribute to systems that automate order intake, validation, and fulfillment across multiple channels and product lines
• Simplify complex problems into manageable steps for yourself and your team
• Explore opportunities to improve team workflows, tooling, and engineering processes
• Engage in open design discussions and code reviews to drive collaboration and quality
• Assist with critical issues and on-call rotation to support platform reliability
