Job summary

Sigma Aerospace Workforce seeks an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join our Mount Isa operation, supporting Beechcraft King Air aircraft (B200/B300). This permanent, full‑time role focuses on hands‑on scheduled and line maintenance, troubleshooting and on‑site support.

You will work with crews and maintenance teams, participate in the on‑call roster, and ensure compliance with licensing requirements. Strong King Air and PT6/turboprop experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold B1 LAME / CASA B1 licence.
• Strong King Air (B200/B300) maintenance experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and rectify defects.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join an aviation maintenance operation supporting King Air aircraft in Mount Isa, Queensland.

This is a hands‑on maintenance position responsible for scheduled and line maintenance, troubleshooting, defect rectification and aircraft support. The successful candidate will work closely with aircraft crews and maintenance teams and participate in the local on‑call roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and line maintenance on Beechcraft King Air aircraft.
• Carry out aircraft inspections, troubleshooting and defect rectification.
• Provide AOG and aircraft/crew ground support as required.
• Assist with third‑party maintenance activities.
• Manage and maintain relevant tooling, parts and materials.
• Complete accurate aircraft maintenance documentation and records.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical aircraft defects.
• Work safely and efficiently in accordance with applicable aviation maintenance requirements.
• Participate in the local on‑call roster.
• Work collaboratively with aircraft crews, maintenance personnel and other stakeholders.
• B1 / Mechanical Aircraft Maintenance Licence or equivalent appropriate international licence/qualification pathway.
• Strong, hands‑on Beechcraft King Air maintenance experience.
• Experience performing aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting and defect rectification.
• Ability and willingness to live and work in Mount Isa, Queensland.
• Appropriate Australian licensing/authorisation requirements must be satisfied before performing licensed duties.
• CASA B1 Licence.
• King Air B200 or B300 experience.
• King Air B350/B360 experience.
• PT6 / turboprop maintenance experience.
• Line maintenance experience.
• AOG experience.
• Strong aircraft fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in remote or regional aviation environments.

International candidates with strong King Air maintenance experience may also be considered. Visa arrangements and the appropriate Australian licensing pathway will be assessed on an individual basis.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced B1 LAME / Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a strong practical background maintaining Beechcraft King Air aircraft, particularly B200/B300. Candidates with CASA B1, King Air type ratings, PT6/turboprop experience, line maintenance, AOG and remote aviation experience are encouraged to apply.
