Job summary

Rishworth Aviation is seeking a full-time B2/B1 LAME based in Cairns, Queensland. You will join a capable engineering team and perform maintenance to ensure aircraft safety and readiness for operation, including line maintenance and compliance with MOE/Part 145 requirements.

The role requires a CASA B1 license, Dash 8 experience is desirable, and eligibility to obtain an ASIC. Willingness to travel to other locations to support operations is a plus, with rotations and early/late shifts described

Qualifications

• CASA B1 license is mandatory.
• Dash 8 100/200/300 experience desirable; Dash 8 type-rating course may be available.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse team and independently when required.
• Eligible to work in Australia and able to obtain ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to keep aircraft safe, serviceable and ready for operation.
• Carry out line maintenance and ensure compliance with regulatory, manufacturer and Part 145 MOE requirements.
• Verify parts, tools and test equipment availability for upcoming maintenance and rectify defects.
• Travel to other locations to support the company’s operations as needed.

Our client is an Australian airline providing regional RPT, ACMI and charter services, connecting communities across the country. They operate a fleet of 11 aircraft, including Dash 8 turboprops and Airbus A319s, and are part of the world’s largest ACMI group, with operations across 6 continents and a global workforce of more than 11,000 aviation professionals.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a full-time B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join the team based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

Rotations are 5 days on / 4 days off and 4 days on / 4 days off. Shifts are 10.5 hours, with morning shifts starting at 5:30 am and late shifts at 2:00 pm, providing a good work-life balance.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work with the Engineering Manager and the wider engineering team to make sure all aircraft maintenance and certification meet regulatory, manufacturer and Part 145 MOE requirements.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including line maintenance, to keep the aircraft safe, serviceable and ready for operation.
• Make sure the required parts, tools and test equipment are available for upcoming maintenance and carry out defect rectification, including when working away from base.
• Support the company’s safety and quality systems and travel to other locations when required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Valid CASA B1 license
• Dash 8 100/200/300 experience is desirable. A funded Dash 8 type-rating course is available, subject to a training bond agreement.
• Good knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures
• Valid manual driver’s license
• Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and independently when required
• Strong attention to detail and a good work ethic
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to successfully obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
