Job summary

Cipher Recruitment is hiring an ICT Network & Systems Administrator for a Brisbane-based role. The position focuses on Fortinet firewall security, Azure Windows Server environments, and Veeam backup for Microsoft 365.

You will work within a small IT team supporting roughly 450–500 staff, with a strong emphasis on security and reliability. The role requires hands-on, autonomous work, 24/7 readiness when needed, and the ability to manage priorities in a 5-day-in-office, hybrid arrangement in

Qualifications

• Experience managing Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and VPNs.
• Experience administering virtual Windows Server environments in Azure.
• Knowledge of cloud security, access management and infrastructure hardening.
• Experience with Veeam backup for Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and maintain Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and security policies.
• Manage VPN solutions, including site-to-site and remote access.
• Monitor network traffic and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct firewall audits and security updates.
• Plan, deploy and manage virtual Windows Servers in Azure.
• Perform maintenance, patching and performance optimization.
• Automate server management with PowerShell, Azure CLI and ARM templates.
• Maintain Veeam backups for Microsoft 365 and perform restores as needed.
• Provide high-level technical support across network security and cloud infrastructure.
• Document infrastructure and provide updates to management.
