Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the SSA IDE cloud, focusing on Azure networking and cybersecurity controls. The role involves design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on IaC and automation.

Hybrid working arrangement allows on-site and remote work within Australia, reporting to the ADA Senior Cloud Engineer. Relevant security clearances and AI-related capabilities are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with Azure cloud networking, security controls and compliance.
• Experience with IaC and automation in cloud deployments.
• Ability to work in hybrid on-site and remote environments in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for IDE cloud design, deployment and operations.
• Design, deploy and monitor IDE Azure cloud networking with gateways, firewalls, NSGs.
• Configure and manage IDE Azure cybersecurity tools and controls.
• Assist maintenance of the cloud platform using IaC approaches.
• Support planning and risk management for the IDE program.
• Leverage AI to accelerate cloud service designs and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Digital Service teams and ICT to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
