Job summary

Austroads is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to strengthen our security posture by implementing cloud-native and third-party solutions. You will support operational teams and ensure controls are effective, scalable, and aligned with business and compliance requirements.

The role focuses on cloud security design, tooling deployment, and collaboration with risk, compliance, and security operations to drive continuous improvement and incident response readiness.

Qualifications

• Significant cybersecurity engineering experience with Azure and AWS.
• Proven ability to implement and manage security tools/platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native security controls and IAM.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, ACSC Essential Eight.
• Certifications such as CISSP, AWS Security - Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security controls in cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• Deploy and maintain security tooling (XDR, CSPM, vulnerability scanners).
• Support secure architecture, deployment guidance, and incident response activities.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, and security operations teams for audits and investigations.
• Backfill during peak periods and continuously improve tooling and automation.
