Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd in Canberra is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead secure cloud design across Azure and AWS, embedding security into cloud architecture, IaC and DevOps pipelines to strengthen cloud security posture.

The role requires current NV2 clearance, a 36-month contract with possible extensions, and responsibilities spanning IAM, CSPM, and security governance within a complex cloud environment.

Job description

Senior Cloud Security Engineer | Azure & AWS Lead the design and ongoing improvement of secure cloud solutions across a complex Azure and AWS environment. This long-term opportunity will see you embed security into cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps pipelines and identity services while strengthening cloud security posture and compliance.

ACT Contract Duration: 36 months, with possible 2 x 12-month extensions
Security Clearance Requirement: Current NV2 clearance
Closing Date: 10:00am, Friday, 31 July 2026

Essential Tasks

• Design secure Azure and AWS architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles.
• Implement IAM, policy, monitoring, encryption and CSPM security controls.
• Embed security controls into Infrastructure as Code and DevOps pipelines.
• Support vulnerability remediation and uplift cloud security standards.

Key Criteria

• Demonstrated experience securing Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
• Experience implementing IAM controls, including Entra ID integration.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud or other CSPM technologies.
• Strong knowledge of ISM, IRAP, NIST or similar security frameworks.
