Job summary

FinXL Professional Services Pty is seeking an AWS Solution Architect to join our Architecture Practice and be deployed with a leading Banking client on a 12-month contract in Sydney CBD.

The role bridges strategy with hands-on guidance, owning end-to-end cloud solutions from roadmap design to delivery, while aligning business goals with resilient AWS patterns and security governance. Hybrid work with 3 fixed days in the office.

Qualifications

• Extensive track record as a Solution Architect with end-to-end design experience.
• Hands-on engineering background, ideally in Lead/Principal roles.
• Strong AWS cloud expertise, security standards and resilient pattern design.
• Experience designing integration architectures using APIs and event-driven systems.
• Experience in banking or highly regulated financial services environments.
• Excellent ability to influence executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture from strategy and roadmap to design and delivery.
• Translate business goals and regulatory obligations into scalable architecture.
• Apply architectural principles, standards and governance across teams.
• Balance long-term direction with immediate project milestones.
• Provide hands-on guidance and lead POCs and pilots for complex initiatives.
• Conduct thorough security and operational evaluations for new solutions.
• Collaborate with leadership to navigate risk, compliance and governance.

FinXL is seeking an AWS Solution Architect to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading Banking client on a 12 months contract in Sydney CBD. Join the FinXL Architecture practice as an AWS Solution Architect for a pivotal Banking engagement. This position bridges strategic architecture with hands-on technical guidance, taking ownership of end-to-end cloud solutions from roadmap design to delivery. You will partner with executive stakeholders to align complex business goals with resilient AWS cloud patterns, integration models, and emerging AI technologies while maintaining rigorous financial risk and security governance. Solution Architecture, AWS and AI Solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture from strategy and roadmap creation to design and delivery.
• Translate strategic business goals and regulatory obligations into practical, scalable architecture designs.
• Establish and apply architectural principles, standards, and governance across technical teams.
• Balance long-term technical direction with immediate project milestones to ensure sustainable outcomes.
• Provide hands-on guidance, leading proofs of concept and pilots for complex engineering initiatives.
• Conduct thorough technical, security, and operational evaluations for new vendor and software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to navigate risk, compliance, and governance requirements.

Key Skills & Experience

• Extensive track record as a Solution Architect with deep expertise in end-to-end design and execution.
• Strong hands-on background in engineering, ideally having served as a Lead or Principal Engineer.
• Solid technical background in AWS cloud infrastructure, security standards, and resilient pattern design.
• Practical experience designing integration architectures using APIs and event-driven distributed systems.
• Prior experience in banking, insurance, or highly regulated financial services environments.
• Exposure to non-financial risk frameworks and designing modern AI-enabled or multi-agent solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to manage and influence executive stakeholders.

Engagement Details

• 12 months contract with a Banking client.
• Hybrid working model with 3 fixed days per week in the office in Sydney CBD.
