Job summary

FinXL IT Professional Services is seeking a Principal Architect - AI Transformation to drive end-to-end AI strategy, design, and governance for a major wealth management client. You will lead enterprise-wide AI design authority, bridging business problems with robust tech solutions, and align AI assets for security, stability and sustainability.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will guide architecture for cutting-edge AI capabilities, collaborating with executive AI leads

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology across multiple complex domains.
• 5+ years in dedicated enterprise architecture.
• 2+ years delivering tangible AI architecture outcomes (multi-agent, orchestration, human-agent).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with executives.
• Expert-level knowledge of AI risks and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Act as the AI enterprise Architecture Authority, advising senior leaders.
• Develop and maintain domain technology strategies, architectures, and reference models.
• Lead the technical design for multi-agent AI initiatives and human-agent workflows.
• Govern technology decisions, lead vendor/product selection, ensure EA standard alignment.
• Establish risk controls around AI risks, safety, and regulatory expectations.
• Mentor Solution Architects and delivery teams across domains.
• Drive health checks and lifecycle practices for long-term stability and cost-effective tech investments.

About the Role

FinXL is currently seeking an experienced Principal Architect - AI Transformation to drive end-to-end artificial intelligence technical strategy, design, and architecture governance for a major wealth management client.

Reporting directly to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and working in close alignment with executive AI leads, you will serve as the enterprise-wide design authority for Artificial Intelligence. In this high-impact position, you will lead the architecture strategy for cutting-edge AI capability-focusing on multi-agent systems, agent orchestration patterns, and human-agent collaboration models. You will bridge complex business problems with robust technical solutions, ensuring all AI technology assets are pragmatically aligned, secure, stable, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Thought Leadership & Authority: Act as the enterprise Architecture Authority for AI, providing strategic advice to General Managers, Heads of Technology, and executive delivery leads.

• Core Blueprint & Artifact Creation: Develop and maintain domain technology strategies, architecture blueprints, agent orchestration patterns, and reference models.

• Advanced AI Architecture: Lead the technical design for complex initiatives spanning multi-agent architectures, agent orchestration, and human-agent collaboration workflows.

• Architecture Governance & Product Selection: Govern technology decisions, lead vendor and product selection, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

• Technology Risk & Compliance: Establish strong technology risk controls around internal/external AI risks, safety, and regulatory compliance expectations.

• Team Leadership & Coaching: Provide direction, coaching, and architectural mentorship to Solution Architects and delivery teams across multi-disciplinary domains.

• Application Health & Lifecycle: Drive Application Health Check frameworks across domains to ensure long-term stability and cost-effective technology investments.

Key Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Overall Technology Track Record: 10+ years of technology experience working across multiple complex technical domains.
  • Prior architectural leadership in regulated sectors (Financial Services / Wealth Management highly regarded).
• Enterprise Architecture Background: 5+ years of dedicated architecture experience delivering large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Hands-on AI Architecture: 2+ years of demonstrated capability delivering tangible AI architecture outcomes, including multi-agent architectures, agent orchestration patterns, and human-agent collaboration models.
• Executive Stakeholder Management: Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with proven ability to present to executive stakeholders.
• AI Risk & Governance: Expert-level knowledge of technical and operational AI risks, technology governance frameworks, and vendor evaluation.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience working alongside regulatory frameworks and standards.
