Job summary

Qantas Engineering in Sydney, Australia is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to join the Structures team. This hands-on role focuses on structural maintenance, repairs and modifications across multiple aircraft types, with emphasis on sheet metal work.

You will inspect, repair, fabricate and install structural components, interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals, ensuring all work meets safety and airworthiness standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) or Aeroskills (Mechanical) with sheet metal experience
• Demonstrated aircraft sheet metal experience in aviation
• Experience performing structural repairs and modifications on aircraft
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and airworthiness standards
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Able to work 4 days on, 4 days off roster (2 day shifts, 2 night shifts)
