Job summary

Australian and International Pilots Association – Mascot NSW is seeking an experienced Aviation Scheduler to advise AIPA members on scheduling, rostering, FRMS and operational matters. You will help pilots navigate complex scheduling issues and disruptions, providing expert guidance when plans change.

The role offers opportunities to influence daily operations, collaborate with Qantas Group stakeholders, and contribute to a supportive, member-focused environment.

Be the person pilots can rely on when it matters. We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated Aviation Scheduler to join our team and provide expert advice to AIPA members on scheduling, rostering, FRMS and operational matters. This is a unique opportunity to use your aviation experience in a role where your knowledge can make a real and immediate difference to pilots. You'll help pilots navigate complex scheduling and rostering issues, particularly when things don't go according to plan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 scheduling and rostering advice to AIPA members, including the application of FRMS rulesets and support for "day of ops" and disruption matters.
• Monitor and respond to the AIPA Emergency Hotline, providing timely and practical support to members when they need it most.
• Provide expert advice to AIPA's Scheduling and FRMS Portfolio holders, staff and members on scheduling and rostering issues.
• Support individual members while also considering the broader interests and operational requirements of the workgroups AIPA represents.
• Represent AIPA at consultative and operational meetings with Qantas Group management and administration.
• Attend planned and ad hoc meetings with AIPA staff, representatives and stakeholders as required.
• Build strong relationships with members and stakeholders, ensuring advice is practical, informed and member focused.
• Keep across changes to scheduling practices, FRMS requirements, enterprise agreements and relevant operational issues.

About you

• Strong aviation and operational knowledge, particularly in scheduling, rostering and/or FRMS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The confidence to engage with people at all levels and build genuine, professional relationships.
• The ability to explain complex operational or contractual matters clearly and practically.
• The ability to remain calm, responsive and solutions focused when priorities change or issues arise.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The self motivation to work independently, take ownership and get things moving.
• A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to supporting AIPA members.
