Job summary

Symal is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to run the Brendale workshop, ensuring compliance, availability and reliability of our truck, trailer and crushing plant fleet. You will lead a small team, work autonomously, and coordinate with Operations, Hire and Projects to maximise fleet readiness.

The role requires a trade qualification (Diesel Fitter/HV Mechanic), strong diagnostic skills and a proactive, hands-on leadership approach in a new, well-equipped facility.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated workshop leadership with autonomy to prioritise and deliver results.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic capability across trucks, trailers and plant.
• Experience with HVNL/NHVR compliance and roadworthy inspections.
• Proven ability to lead teams of tradespeople and apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee heavy vehicle fleet maintenance and compliance under HVNL/NHVR.
• Plan and deliver maintenance for fixed crushing plant and mobile equipment to maximise availability.
• Lead, mentor and develop up to five workshop staff; manage parts and scheduling.
• Utilise the CMMS to plan work, track asset records and drive continuous improvement.
