Job summary

Asquith Workforce, an Indigenous owned recruitment agency, is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor for a busy site in Sandgate. You will lead a workshop team, oversee heavy vehicle servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance, and coordinate parts, labour and schedules to minimise downtime.

Applicants must be a trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic with prior supervisory experience, strong organisational and communication skills, and a sound understanding of WHS, HVNL and CoR requirements.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic essential.
• Experience supervising a workshop team.
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle servicing and maintenance.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced transport environment.
• Sound understanding of WHS, HVNL and CoR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily workshop operations including mechanics, tradespeople and apprentices.
• Oversee servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles, earthmoving machinery and ancillary equipment.
• Allocate workloads, manage maintenance schedules and coordinate breakdown repairs.
• Organise labour, parts and resources to minimise fleet downtime.
• Support staff rostering, timesheet approvals and team development.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, HVNL and CoR obligations.
