Job summary

BHP Goonyella Riverside Mine is seeking a Specialist Engineer to join the Mine Planning team. You will drive short-term scheduling, integrate multiple planning disciplines, and deliver safe, executable mine plans for an autonomous coal operation.

The role requires strong scheduling, collaboration across Planning, Survey and Production, and a focus on data-driven decision-making to optimise interfaces and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in mine planning across scheduling, load and haul, drill & blast, coal planning.
• Proficiency with mine planning software (Spry, Vulcan, Deswik or similar).
• Collaborative approach and strong communication across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's short-term schedule including SRF and weekly horizons.
• Apply technical mine planning knowledge into an integrated schedule.
• Ensure direction is fit-for-purpose and aligned with Planning, Survey, Geotech and Production.
• Provide data-driven insights to support site engineering and leadership decision-making.
• Drive performance and continuous improvement through projects and problem solving.
