Job summary

BHP's Goonyella Riverside Mine (BMA) is seeking a Specialist Engineer to join the Mine Planning team. You will lead the short-term schedule, integrating drill & blast, load & haul, and other planning disciplines to deliver a safe, executable plan.

The role involves working with autonomous equipment, real-time data analysis and continuous improvement projects, requiring strong collaboration across planning, production and geotechnical teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in mine planning with scheduling, drill & blast, and other planning disciplines.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Spry, Vulcan or Deswik.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's short-term schedule including SRF and weekly horizons.
• Apply technical knowledge to an integrated scheduling environment.
• Align planning, survey, geotechnical and production teams with clear direction.
• Provide data-driven insights to support site leadership decisions.
• Drive performance improvements and manage project-based changes.
• Ensure compliance with policies and SHMS.
