Job summary

Transdev Australasia in Sydney is seeking an Automotive Trade Assistant on day shift to support a team of automotive trades staff, ensuring safety and reliability of our bus fleet.

The role is full-time at Randwick Depot, offering $35.53 per hour including industry allowance plus overtime, shift allowances, a monthly RDO and free public transport across Sydney.

Qualifications

• Relevant automotive experience using hand and power tools.
• Current NSW HR drivers licence (or ability to upgrade).
• Computer literacy to record maintenance information.
• Experience in bus maintenance or public transport is desirable.
• If related experience not shown, include a cover letter.

Responsibilities

• Assist repair trades with service, maintenance and repair of buses.
• Carry out minor servicing and repairs under supervision.
• Support parts issuing and allocation to the team.
• Clean the workshop and operate light machinery.
• Record maintenance activities accurately in computer systems.
• Contribute to safety and quality in workshop operations.

Your impact

We are seeking an Automotive Workshop Trade Assistant on day shift (6am-2.30pm Monday to Friday). In this role, you will support a team of Automotive Trades staff (Mechanics, Panel Beaters, Spray Painters, Auto Electricians etc) to maintain the safety, reliability and performance of our bus fleet.

This is a full-time position based at our Randwick Depot, offering an attractive hourly rate of $35.53ph (includes industry allowance) plus overtime opportunities, shift allowances, a monthly RDO and free public transport across Sydney.

You must be able to work 10.30am- 7pm or 11am-7.30pm shift when required (15% shift allowance is payable for the whole shift).

What you will do

• Assist Engineering Repair Trades staff with service, maintenance and repair of the bus fleet.
• Carry out minor servicing and repairs under supervision.
• Support Engineering Repair Trades staff with spare parts issuing and allocation.
• Cleaning of the workshop including sweeping floors and emptying bins.
• Operate light machinery such as pedestrian forklift, yard scrubber, floor scrubber, bin lifter.
• Complete maintenance records accurately using computer-based systems.

What you bring

Experience & Qualifications

• Must have relevant automotive experience shown on resume including the use of hand tools and power tools.
• Current NSW HR drivers licence (or have a current NSW C class licence and have the ability to upgrade to an HR licence).
• Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information.
• Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations (desirable).
