Job summary

BMW Australia, in partnership with GP Strategies, seeks an experienced Senior Technician transitioning into an Automotive Technical Trainer based in Melbourne (Mulgrave).

You will work with the Technical Training Manager to align content and deliver programs across Australia & New Zealand, supporting network competency goals and maximizing attendance for training events.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
• Ability to convey technical information clearly.
• Experience in training or education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Our partnership with BMW Australia has us looking for an experienced Senior Technician who would like to progress into the next step of their careers to develop into an Automotive Technical Trainer. We are seeking a highly motivated, hard-working, and passionate person to guide and develop technicians throughout their BMW career.

We have an opportunity for a Technical Trainer to join our team in Melbourne (Mulgrave). Working in collaboration with the Technical Training Manager to align all training content, your primary focus will be to support BMW Australia's retail network competency goals by delivering training across Australian & New Zealand markets.

Key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Facilitation of all BMW Group Technical Training (face to face & virtual) for Apprentice, Service, Registered, Senior and Master Technicians.

Continuous review of training content with Manager to ensure relevancy for dealers and alignment with company objectives.

Ensure BMW Australia training programs stand out as the most relevant and desirable training to be undertaken by dealership staff.

Work with regions and dealerships to maximize attendance for all training events and sessions that are scheduled to be run.

Ensure that contemporary adult learning principles are applied to maximize the effectiveness of learning outcomes of training activities.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques, dealership operations and process. (Knowledge of BMW Group a bonus)

Ability to convey technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.

Sound business management knowledge including KPI control and derivation of measures to achieve objectives.

Strong interpersonal skills (A friendly and team player attitude, empathic, engaging)

Thorough knowledge of computer application (MS Office suite, Adobe Connect)

Qualifications or education appropriate to the automotive industry and role is desirable.

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122) or working towards the equivalent education.
