Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Altapac in Artarmon is seeking an experienced Workshop Technician to fit a range of automotive accessories and ensure they are safely installed and ready for use. You will work with our sales team to tailor solutions for customers, handling installations and basic support on-site.
The role emphasizes hands-on workmanship, accurate documentation and clear communication with customers and colleagues. A proactive, practical approach and experience with various vehicle types are valued.
Enjoy hands-on work, take pride in a tidy fitment and know your way around a vehicle? We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join our Artarmon team.
You'll fit a range of automotive accessories, including roof racks, towbars, bullbars, canopies, ute lids and electrical accessories. You'll work closely with our sales team to make sure customers get a suitable solution, properly installed and ready to use.
Planning and completing installations, diagnosing faults and resolving fitment issues
Checking your work for safety, correct fitment and finish before handing a vehicle back
Keeping job information accurate and letting the team know about issues, delays or additional work required
Helping customers understand their accessories and how to use them
Supporting product enquiries, quotations and sales when needed
Keeping the workshop safe, organised and ready for the next job
You’re an experienced fitter or automotive technician who can work independently and knows when to ask for a second opinion. You care about getting things right and understand that good workmanship includes looking after the customer’s vehicle.
Experience fitting automotive accessories, ideally across a range of vehicles and products
Strong mechanical skills and confidence with accessory wiring and fault-finding
A careful, practical approach to problem-solving
Clear communication and a willingness to help your teammates
A light vehicle mechanic qualification or another relevant automotive trade qualification would be highly regarded.
The workshop will be your main focus, but you should also be comfortable speaking with customers and helping out on the sales side when needed. You don’t need to be a polished salesperson. Practical knowledge, a helpful attitude and honest advice matter.
Altapac helps customers get their vehicles ready for work, family life and outdoor adventures. With stores across Newcastle, the Hunter and Sydney, we supply and fit roof racks, towing equipment, 4WD accessories and practical vehicle upgrades.
Our approach is straightforward: helpful advice, quality products and workmanship we’re proud to put our name to. Whether we’re fitting out a tradie’s ute or getting a family ready for their next road trip, we want customers to leave confident in their setup and comfortable coming back for advice.
