Job summary

SuperChoice is seeking an Automation Tester to join the Engineering team in Sydney. This is a hands-on automation role, requiring practical experience developing, executing and maintaining automated tests using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.

You'll collaborate across teams in Agile/Kanban, perform manual testing when needed, and contribute to test strategy and documentation while enjoying hybrid working and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2–3 years hands-on software testing experience with demonstrated test automation.
• Hands-on experience developing, executing, maintaining and troubleshooting automated test scripts.
• Practical experience using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and Postman.
• Experience with automation frameworks and Agile/Kanban development methods.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key contributor to our Engineering Team, you?ll:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using BDD/TDD frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design test scenarios and analyse user stories.
• Perform manual testing when required to support automation efforts.
• Manage tickets effectively, ensuring progress updates and thorough documentation.
• Share knowledge with the team by presenting testing progress and outcomes.
• Partner with Production Support and Technical Operations to ensure testable and maintainable applications.

Your efforts will directly support delivering quality-driven solutions for our clients and maintaining a robust software ecosystem.

What We?re Looking For

To excel in this role, you?ll need:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2-3 years of hands-on software testing experience, with demonstrated practical experience in test automation.
• Hands-on experience developing, executing, maintaining and troubleshooting automated test scripts.
• Practical experience using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and Postman.
• Experience working directly with automation frameworks, rather than solely having exposure to or supporting automation projects.
• Familiarity with Agile/Kanban development methods.
• A passion for learning new technologies and tools in software testing.

Hands-on automation testing experience is an essential requirement for this position.
