Job summary

Medibank Private Limited, based in Australia, is seeking an Automation Consultant to shape quality engineering across Customer Enabling Platforms. You will design and maintain automated test solutions that support delivery of high‑quality digital experiences and business outcomes.

In this hybrid role, you’ll collaborate with engineering teams, QA specialists and stakeholders to identify test scenarios, build reusable automation components, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing automated testing solutions within complex technology environments.
• Translating business requirements into meaningful and effective test scenarios.
• Hands-on experience using automation tools such as Playwright and developing automation frameworks using Java.
• Understand modern quality engineering practices, including behaviour-driven development and continuous testing approaches.
• Experience working with APIs, automated testing pipelines and tools that support continuous integration and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and maintaining automated test solutions across customer, application and API platforms.
• Identifying test scenarios from business requirements and translating them into effective automated tests.
• Supporting end-to-end testing across Customer Enabling Platform business processes.
• Developing reusable automation components that improve efficiency and consistency across teams.
• Continuously identifying opportunities to improve test coverage, reliability and execution performance.
• Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring automation results, investigating failures and recommending improvements.
• Providing input into delivery planning, testing activities and effort estimation.
• Sharing knowledge and uplifting automation capability across the broader team.
• Collaborating with engineers, quality specialists and stakeholders to embed quality engineering best practices.
