Job summary
RGIT Australia seeks an Automation & Mechanical Engineer for a premier almond processing facility in Murray Downs. This hands-on role covers automation, controls, mechanical reliability, and material handling in a highly automated environment.
You will diagnose faults, improve OEE, support PLC/HMI programming, and collaborate with OEMs and IT teams to optimize plant performance and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Automation/Electrical engineering or related field.
- Experience troubleshooting automated machinery in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of PLC/SCADA/HMI control systems and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on engineering support across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, sensors and drives.
- Diagnose automation faults and improve availability, throughput and reliability.
- Support PLC/HMI programming, modifications and upgrades.
- Identify opportunities to further automate and integrate PLC/SCADA with MES/WMS.
- Maintain documentation, backups, and change controls.
- Design and improve conveyors, material-handling equipment and safety systems.
- Manage AGV systems, routing and congestion with a focus on efficiency.
