Job summary

Seeley International, a leader in climate control solutions, seeks an automation specialist to own end-to-end automation strategy. You will identify opportunities, build business cases, and drive projects from concept through commissioning on time and within budget on site in Adelaide.

You will work hands-on with mechanical design, PLCs, robotics, and servo systems, partnering with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to shape a transformational automation program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in automation and robotics within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven track record delivering automation projects and strategy.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, camera systems, AGVs, robots and barcoding technology.

• Identify and scope automation opportunities, and build the business case for investment
• Lead automation projects from design through to delivery, reporting on milestones and ROI
• Develop mechanical machine mechanisms, assemblies and function algorithms; specify and program PLCs, robots and servos as required
• Shape Seeley's broader digital automation transformation strategy in partnership with stakeholders
• Train operators and build internal robotics capability across the site

The role

Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you'll own our automation strategy end-to-end identifying opportunities, building the business case, and driving projects from concept through to commissioning, on time and within budget. You'll work hands-on with mechanical machine design, robotics, PLCs and servo systems, while partnering closely with Production, Engineering, Quality/HSE and Maintenance teams.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in automation and robotics, within 7 to 10 years in a manufacturing or operational environment
• A proven track record delivering automation projects and developing automation strategy
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, camera systems, AGVs, robots and barcoding technology
• Strong stakeholder and senior management reporting skills, with the influence to align automation strategy with business priorities
