Job summary

Stawell Gold Mines located in the historic goldfields of Stawell, Victoria, is seeking qualified Auto Electricians to join the Mobile Maintenance team. This residential 7/7 roster role involves maintaining underground diesel equipment to high standards and reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor.

You will diagnose auto electrical, air conditioning and control system faults, perform routine maintenance, and support apprentices while upholding safety and environmental excellence.

Qualifications

• Qualified auto electrician with experience servicing mobile diesel equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on light and heavy diesel equipment (including underground).
• Diagnose and repair auto electrical, air conditioning and control system faults.
• Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment to a high standard.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Uphold health, safety and environmental excellence.
• Support apprentices and contribute to a strong team culture.

Stawell Gold Mines currently have openings for qualified Auto Electrician to join our Mobile Maintenance team

Stawell Gold Mines (SGM) is a well-established underground mining operation located in the historic goldfields of Stawell, 236 km north-west of Melbourne.
Our mine has a proud legacy in gold exploration and production, and today we continue to build on that heritage with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

About the role

We currently have openings for qualified Auto Electricians to join our maintenance team. Residential Role working 7/7 Roster including some night shift.
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing SGM’s fleet of underground mobile diesel equipment to the highest standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on light and heavy diesel equipment (including underground).
• Diagnosing and repairing auto electrical, air conditioning and control system faults.
• Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Maintaining workshop tools and equipment to a high standard.
• Completing maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Upholding SGM’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence.
• Supporting apprentices and contributing to a strong team culture.

About you

You’re a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in quality work, communicates clearly and works well both independently and within a team.

You will bring:

• Experience servicing and maintaining mobile diesel equipment. (underground experience highly regarded).
• Strong knowledge of auto electrical, air conditioning and control systems.
• Availability to work a continuous shift roster (Days/Nights) where required.
