Job summary

Brooks Hire is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician to join our Oxley workshop team in Queensland. This role involves electrical diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of a broad fleet, in both workshop and field settings.

The successful candidate will have a trade qualification, experience with major equipment brands, and a valid driver’s licence. HR licences and additional certifications are advantageous, supporting safety and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified auto electrician with relevant field experience.
• Experience in vehicle preparation and routine maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license (HR licence preferred).
• Experience with major equipment brands is a plus.
• Forklift or high-risk work licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of equipment (workshop & field service).
• Rebuild electrical components and perform major repairs.
• Ensure workshop operations are safe, clean, and efficient.
• Support the development and training of apprentices.
• Maintain compliance with environmental and OH&S standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of equipment (workshop & field service)

• Rebuild electrical components and perform major repairs

• Ensure workshop operations are safe, clean, and efficient

• Support the development and training of apprentices

About You

• Trade-qualified Auto Electrician

• Experience in vehicle preparation and routine maintenance

• Valid Driver’s Licence (HR licence preferred)

• Experience with XCMG, Komatsu and Caterpillar equipment (desirable but not essential)

• Forklift and/or high-risk work licence (advantageous)

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude

• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
