Job summary

MacKellar is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our permanent maintenance team at Boundary Hill Mine. The role offers a day shift only lifestyle roster, competitive earning potential, and the security of working with an established mining contractor.

You will join a company with over 60 years of experience supporting major mining operations across Australia. As an Auto Electrician, you will maintain heavy mining equipment, perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance and repairs in

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification as an Auto Electrician.
• Experience maintaining heavy mining/eartmoving equipment.
• Current ARC Licence.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on heavy mining equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Troubleshooting electrical systems and completing fault-finding activities.
• Carrying out breakdown repairs and component replacements.
• Inspecting equipment and identifying reliability improvements.
• Completing maintenance documentation and work orders accurately.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with operations and fellow tradespeople with a strong safety focus.

About the Role

As an Auto Electrician, you'll play an important role in maintaining the performance, reliability and availability of a large fleet of heavy mining equipment. Working alongside an experienced maintenance team, you'll deliver high-quality preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in a safe and efficient environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on heavy mining equipment
• Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Troubleshooting electrical systems and completing fault-finding activities

About You

You're a qualified Auto Electrician who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship and thrives in a mining maintenance environment. To be successful, you'll have:

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification as an Auto Electrician
• Experience maintaining heavy mining or earthmoving equipment
• Current ARC (Air Conditioning) Licence
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Commitment to safe work practices and teamwork
• A proactive attitude and focus on delivering quality outcomes
