Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking a high-impact senior leader to run the Australian operations with autonomy, reporting to the Managing Director, Pacific. You will oversee all Operations, Fleet Distribution, and Maintenance and Damage, driving EBITDA growth and strategic direction.

In this role you will lead a large multi-site team, cultivate a leadership pipeline, and partner with a global matrix organisation to improve profitability, customer experience, and ESG standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior operations or fleet leadership role, ideally in car rental, mobility or another multi-site, asset-intensive business.
• Strong financial acumen and a proven record of improving operational efficiency and profitability.
• Experience leading and developing teams to meet and exceed targets.
• Confidence managing multiple projects and stakeholders, and communicating with senior leaders.
• Experience in a US-headquartered multinational, with a clear understanding of its performance metrics, reporting rhythms and ways of operating.

Responsibilities

• Own the P&L: forecast and manage revenue and cost budgets, track performance against plan, and act quickly to close gaps
• Grow ancillary revenue (upgrades, damage waiver and counter products) and commercial vehicle revenue
• Manage and forecast the fleet to optimise revenue per unit, utilisation and customer service
• Raise customer satisfaction, using NPS, Google reviews and Booking.com as key measures
• Lead, coach and engage a large operations team, and build a strong leadership pipeline and succession plan
• Work across a global matrix organisation and contribute to commercial and fleet strategy
• Make sure the business meets health, safety, environmental, compliance and ESG standards
