Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager in Australia to join our Public Policy team and establish Anthropic as a trusted neighbour from site selection through long-term operations.

The role requires developing a market-specific engagement strategy, building coalitions with councils, agencies, and community groups, and traveling regularly within the region. You will translate technical plans into local benefits and help shape the playbook for future markets.

Qualifications

• Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, or related field.
• Direct experience engaging with local councils and state governments on infrastructure projects.
• Strong relationship builder with diverse stakeholders and trust.
• Ability to represent a company credibly in public settings (town halls, hearings).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; translate complex plans into plain language.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain relationships with local councils, government ministers, agencies, and community groups.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each market.
• Create external coalitions and host listening sessions delivering local benefits.
• Represent Anthropic in public forums, hearings, and community events.
• Monitor community sentiment and advise internal teams on risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Infrastructure, Communications, and Sustainability teams to align community input with project delivery.
• Oversee charitable donations and community investment within markets; manage nonprofit partnerships.
• Coordinate power, water, and land-use questions with Energy and Sustainability teams.
• Build scalable community engagement playbooks for all markets.
