Job summary

Sleek is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeping leader to direct Australian bookkeeping services, scale processes, and manage a portfolio of SME clients from advisory to compliance. You’ll ensure accurate lodgements, interact with the ATO, and mentor a remote team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years in senior bookkeeping, and 2+ years in leading a team. Flexible work options include partial remote working and remote month allowances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years’ experience in a senior bookkeeping role managing SME clients.
• At least 2 years’ experience managing a team of bookkeepers.
• Proficiency with Xero Practice Manager, Dext, A2X, and other accounting tools.
• Strong client service and communication skills.
• Belief that AI enables greater efficiency and is shaping workflows.

Responsibilities

• Be the backbone of Sleek’s Australian bookkeeping services and scale internal processes.
• Manage a portfolio of startup and SME clients from advisory to compliance.
• Represent clients confidently with the ATO as their compliance right hand.
• Own end-to-end monthly or quarterly filings prep and lodgement.
• Provide guidance and quality control for remote bookkeeping team.
• Act as trusted advisor on bookkeeping and accounting, from planning to problem-solving.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of bookkeepers and accountants.
