The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced audit contractor to join the team for approximately three months over the January to March busy season. This person would need to be able to come into the team and contribute quickly across year-end audit engagements during a high-volume period.

The role would involve assisting with planning and fieldwork, preparing and reviewing audit workpapers (depending on experience), substantive testing across key financial statement balances, completing audit sections with limited supervision, following up client information, documenting audit evidence and conclusions, and helping the team progress engagements through to completion.

Your experience and attributes

The ideal candidate will be a team player with prior external audit experience in an Australian accounting firm or a similar professional services environment. You will have a strong understanding of financial statements and audit methodology, along with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent time management and organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple engagements, and strong attention to detail. Experience using Excel and audit software is highly regarded, as is exposure to Australian Accounting Standards and Australian Auditing Standards.

You will be proactive, adaptable, and confident working both independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to quickly contribute with minimal supervision will be key to your success in this role.

Our culture

Our team is talented, sociable, hardworking and diverse. Social events and fun activities happen regularly, and you’ll find people at all levels friendly and supportive. Inclusiveness is fundamental to our culture, and we lead the accounting industry for gender and cultural diversity.
