Job summary

Austcorp in Sydney-based operations seeks an AV Technician with 2–3 years in commercial AV to join a team delivering high-end projects. You’ll work with experienced colleagues across design, integration and commissioning, expanding your skills in control, audio, video and networked solutions.

The role evolves beyond everyday installations, offering exposure to Crestron, Q-SYS, AV-over-IP and advanced AV workflows within corporate, education and hospitality venues.

Qualifications

• Around 2–3 years' experience in commercial AV installation/integration.
• Good understanding of AV equipment and signal flow.
• Experience with conferencing, audio, video or control systems.
• Strong eye for detail and quality workmanship.
• Good communication and client-facing skills.
• Willingness to learn systems you haven't worked with before.
• Ambition to progress beyond simply being an installer.

This is an opportunity for an AV Technician who wants to become exceptional at what they do.

We’re working with a highly regarded Sydney-based technology integrator delivering some genuinely impressive AV projects across commercial, corporate, education, hospitality, entertainment and specialist environments.

They’re looking for an AV Technician with around 2-3 years’ experience who has the fundamentals, takes pride in their workmanship and, most importantly, wants to keep learning and progressing.

This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same installation every day.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians, project managers, programmers and engineers, getting exposure to increasingly sophisticated AV integration projects and the technology behind them.

The Technology

You'll have the opportunity to work with technologies including:

• Crestron – control, Flex, AirMedia and DM NVX AV-over-IP
• Q-SYS / QSC – DSP, control, cameras and audio
• Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom and BYOD/BYOM
• Dante and networked audio
• Sennheiser, Biamp, Shure, Tannoy and other professional audio
• Samsung commercial displays and LED
• Epson projection
• PTZ cameras and video distribution
• AV-over-IP and network infrastructure
• Rack builds, commissioning, testing and system integration

Recent projects have included sophisticated corporate workplaces, large multipurpose environments, higher education facilities, immersive entertainment venues and integrated AV environments combining video, audio, control, conferencing and digital signage.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved across the full delivery of integrated AV systems, including:

• Installing and integrating commercial AV systems
• Rack building, termination and equipment installation
• Displays, projectors, cameras, speakers and microphones
• Crestron and Q-SYS-based systems
• AV-over-IP and networked AV
• Cable termination, testing and fault finding
• System commissioning and troubleshooting
• Working from drawings, schematics and project documentation
• Working closely with PMs, programmers, engineers and clients
• Developing your technical knowledge across new AV technologies

What We're Looking For

You don't need to know everything.

We're looking for someone with approximately 2-3 years of commercial AV experience who has built a solid technical foundation and now wants to take the next step.
You'll ideally have:

• Around 2-3 years' experience in commercial AV installation/integration
• Good understanding of AV equipment and signal flow
• Experience with conferencing, audio, video or control systems
• A strong eye for detail and quality workmanship
• Good communication and client-facing skills
• A genuine interest in technology
• A willingness to learn systems you haven't worked with before
• The ambition to progress beyond simply being an installer
