Job summary

Hampton Park Secondary College is seeking an Attendance Officer to monitor student absenteeism and coordinate with House Leadership, Wellbeing teams, and external service providers. The role emphasizes administrative support and accurate record-keeping within the DE Attendance Policy framework.

The successful candidate will work in a team environment, provide guidance to staff and leadership, and contribute to attendance improvements while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks.
• Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment.
• Possess the technical knowledge and experience relevant to the position (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, Compass, Maestro, and Panorama).
• Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to other staff and Leadership in respect to Attendance processes and Attendance Policy.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.
• Demonstrated capacity to build positive working relationships with staff, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Attendance monitoring and internal investigations of student absences.
• Liaises with House Leadership, Wellbeing teams, and external providers to improve attendance.
• Provide administrative support to attendance and executive assistants as required.
• Maintain student records and documentation for attendance processes.
• Contribute to professional development and implementation of best practices in attendance.
