Allens' Banking & Finance team invites a lawyer to advise clients on asset finance and structured solutions, collaborating with partners across offices. Job description

Your role You'll be a part of our Banking & Finance team and work with lawyers across all of our offices. Working closely with our Partners and the wider team, you will gain exposure to the most complex and interesting transactions in the market. You'll have the privilege of advising clients from almost every sector, from government and healthcare through to infrastructure, media and banking. Allens' asset finance and structured solutions practice is a leading part of the firm's broader Banking & Finance team, advising major domestic and international banks, corporates, funds and government clients on complex, high-value asset-backed and structured financing transactions. The team works across a wide range of asset classes including aviation, space objects, rolling stock, yellow goods, shipping, commodities, automotive finance, emerging technologies and digital infrastructure, and is particularly recognised for developing innovative funding solutions and developing new finance products.

As part of our team, you will advise clients on financing arrangements relating to:

• Aviation and aerospace finance and leasing, including aircraft and helicopter financings, leases, sale-and-leasebacks and financing space objects.
• Rail, shipping and transport finance, including rolling stock, vessels and vehicle fleets.
• Equipment, plant and machinery finance, including mining, construction, agricultural and manufacturing equipment.
• Technology, data centre and energy asset finance, including specialised and emerging asset classes.
• Leasing and asset-based structures, including operating and finance leases, hire purchase, rental and vendor finance.
• Commodity financing and derivatives.
• Receivables, warehouse and portfolio financings, including the financing and acquisition of portfolios of assets and receivables.
• Bespoke structured solutions, designed around particular assets, cash flows, funding requirements or other objectives.
• Cross-border financings.
• Developing new finance products.
• Refinancings, restructurings and asset disposals.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

About you

You will have:

• Experience in a Banking & Finance team within a large law firm (we are also open to a combination of private practice and in-house experience)
• Exposure to asset finance and structured solutions
• Worked directly with clients to instruct them on complex finance transactions
• A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others
