Job summary

Barr Planning a Division of Beveridge Williams is seeking an Associate Principal Planner to lead a portfolio of State and regional projects from concept to delivery. You will liaise with clients, supervise staff, and oversee budgets and reporting to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a planning degree accredited by PIA, 10+ years’ experience, and Registered Planner status or progress toward it.

Qualifications

  • Planning degree accredited by PIA.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Planner status with PIA or pursuing.
  • Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation.
  • Experience in environmental or social impact assessment.
  • Proven project management and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver a range of State and regionally significant projects on time and on budget.
  • Act as Project Lead to liaise with clients and maintain communication between staff and clients.
  • Develop fee proposals for new projects and manage internal workflows, invoices and reporting.
  • Contribute to QA system development and support business development in targeted sectors.

The Position:

We are looking for an Associate Principal Planner who is responsible for:

  • Managing and delivering a range of State and regionally significant projects on time and on budget.
  • Acting as Project Lead to liaise with clients and maintain communication between staff and clients.
  • Developing fee proposals for new projects and managing internal workflows, invoices and reporting.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of our QA system and support business development, with a focus on targeted sectors.
Skills & Experience:

We are looking for an experienced planner, who meets the following criteria:

  • Has a planning degree which is accredited by PIA and more than 10 years’ relevant experience.
  • Hold or be working towards Registered Planner status with PIA.
  • Have a strong technical knowledge of the NSW planning legislation and processes, with skills in environmental impact assessment or social impact assessment.
  • Possess project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage a project within agreed time frames, budgets and quality goal.
  • Possess excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills with demonstrated team leadership capability.
