Job summary

Barr Planning, a division of Beveridge Williams, invites applications for an Associate Principal Planner in NSW. This role focuses on managing and delivering state and regional projects, leading client and staff coordination, and contributing to business development within a collaborative, supportive culture.

Applicants should have a PIA-accredited planning degree, 10+ years’ experience, and Ideally Registered Planner status. Flexible office locations include Newcastle, Sydney or Western Sydney.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher planning degree accredited by PIA.
• 10+ years of relevant planning experience.
• Registered Planner status with PIA (or working towards).
• Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation and processes.
• Experience with environmental or social impact assessment.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to deliver within time and budget.
• Excellent verbal, written and visual communication with leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver State and regionally significant projects on time and on budget.
• Act as Project Lead; liaise with clients and coordinate staff-to-client communications.
• Develop fee proposals and manage internal workflows, invoices and reporting.
• Contribute to QA system development and support business development across sectors.

The Position:

We are looking for an Associate Principal Planner who is responsible for:

• Managing and delivering a range of State andregionally significant projects on time and on budget.
• Acting as Project Lead to liaise with clientsand maintain communication between staff and clients.
• Developing fee proposals for new projects andmanaging internal workflows, invoices and reporting.
• Contributing to the development and maintenanceof our QA system and support business development, with a focus on targetedsectors.

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for an experiencedplanner, who meets the following criteria:

• Has a planning degree which is accredited by PIAand more than 10 years' relevant experience.
• Hold or be working towards Registered Plannerstatus with PIA.
• Have a strong technical knowledge of the NSWplanning legislation and processes, with skills in environmental impactassessment or social impact assessment.
• Possess project management skills withdemonstrated ability to manage a project within agreed time frames, budgets andquality goal.
• Possess excellent verbal, visual and writtencommunication skills with demonstrated team leadership capability.
