The successful candidate returns to their substantive position on completion unless required earlier. You will lead clinical and operational care in urgent care, mentor staff, manage patient flow, uphold safety, and contribute to a supportive regional healthcare

Qualifications

  • AHPRA registration is required to practice.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent is required or in progress.
  • ALS/Paediatric ALS competence is required.
  • Triage experience and regional healthcare experience preferred.

  • Support/coordinate with Nurse Unit Manager in clinical and operational leadership
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with best practices
  • Coordinate staffing and patient flow to ensure timely service delivery
  • Promote continuous improvement and staff development and education

Job Description

Fixed Term ANUM Contract - 32 hours per fortnight

Dates: September 2026 to November 29 2026.

The successful candidate will return to their substantive position upon completion of the fixed-term contract, unless required to return earlier due to the incumbent resuming their position.

About the Role

As the ANUM, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with the day-to-day coordination and delivery of high-quality care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. You'll lead by example, mentor junior staff, and ensure efficient patient flow while fostering a positive, safe, and collaborative workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager in clinical and operational leadership
  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in line with best practices
  • Coordinate staffing and patient flow to ensure timely and effective service delivery
  • Promote continuous improvement and contribute to staff development and education
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff
About You

You're an experienced, compassionate, and motivated nurse leader with a passion for urgent care and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You thrive in fast-moving environments, inspire confidence in your team, and are always focused on delivering exceptional care.

You will have:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent, or working towards.
  • Advanced Life Support/Paediatric Advanced Life Support competent.
  • Clinical experience in the relevant specialty including Triage experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A desire to make a difference in a regional healthcare setting
  • Commitment to professional growth and development in leadership.
