Job summary

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to lead the Kerferd team, support the Nurse Unit Manager, and ensure high-quality consumer care and service provision. The ANUM will manage clinical and administrative duties during NUM absences and guide a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must hold RN registration with AHPRA, a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing, and demonstrate advanced problem-solving and professional development commitment.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be a Registered Nurse with AHPRA eligibility.
• Postgraduate/Masters in Mental Health Nursing is required.
• Demonstrated competence in consumer-centred care and advanced problem-solving.

About The Role

Closing Date: 16 September 2026

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) will be a valued member of the Kerferd team and support the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide strong leadership and role modelling by ensuring a high level of consumer care and service provision. The ANUM will be able to function in complex situations while providing support and direction to all members of the nursing and multidisciplinary team. The ANUM will also be able to provide clinical and administrative management of the unit in the absence of the NUM and on a shift-by-shift basis.

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity;

• Current eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Postgraduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing/Masters in Mental Health Nursing
• Demonstrated competence in consumer centred care and problem-solving skills at an advanced level
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure in a multidisciplinary environment
• Knowledge and prior involvement in quality improvement activities, staff development, research and/or risk management
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgement in ethical, clinical and management issues
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development
