Job summary

Capital Executive Search is assisting a global renewable energy developer to hire an Associate for the deals team in Sydney. The role focuses on owning and building project-level financial models, from feasibility to live financing and debt-raising processes.

You will evaluate project economics from a power-cost perspective, reflect funding sources, and ensure models are robust and auditable across teams including funding, development and FP&A.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in financial modelling teams or the investment team of a renewable energy developer.
• Strong financial modelling background – ideally project finance/greenfield development models, not just corporate or portfolio-level modelling.
• Some exposure to, or strong interest in, power and energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining project-level greenfield development models across a growing pipeline of infrastructure and data centre projects
• Evaluating project economics from a power cost perspective — understanding power generation and procurement costs and how they flow through returns
• Reflecting funding sources and capital drawdown/deployment timing within project models
• Keeping models deal-ready as projects move from feasibility into live financing and debt-raising processes
• Supporting the development team on feasibility-stage modelling inputs
• Working closely with the commercial team where model and contract assumptions intersect — full context provided
• Supporting the preparation of investment and reporting materials for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensuring models are well-structured and auditable for stakeholders across funding, commercial, development and FP&A
