Job summary

CommBank's IB&M Capital Structuring SAF team in Melbourne invites expressions of interest for Associate Director to lead complex asset-backed financing and leasing transactions across transport, logistics, infrastructure and energy sectors.

At CommBank, we support Australia’s largest corporates, governments, and institutional clients to grow and invest in the economy. Within IB&M’s Capital Structuring business, our Structured Asset Finance (SAF) team delivers innovative, asset-backed funding and leasing solutions across priority sectors including transport, logistics, infrastructure, energy transition and digital.

This is a high-performing, specialist team working on complex, deal-driven transactions in close partnership with Coverage, Markets, Risk, Treasury and Legal teams.

As an Associate Director, you will:

• Contribute to the growth of a leading Structured Asset Finance franchise by supporting the origination of new opportunities through market insights and client engagement
• Work across the full transaction lifecycle – assisting in structuring and executing complex asset-backed financing and leasing solutions
• Partner with senior originators, clients, and sponsors on high-value deals, building trusted relationships and deepening your client‑facing capability
• Deliver financial modelling, analysis, and transaction insights to support deal execution and decision making
• Collaborate with Coverage, Risk, Treasury and Legal to assess and manage transaction risk, and support credit approvals and governance requirements
• Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative culture, including supporting team capability and development

What You’ll Bring

• Experience (5+ years) in structured/asset finance, IB&M, project finance, leveraged finance or private credit
• Exposure to transaction execution within a deal team environment
• Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial judgement skills
• Understanding of credit, asset risk, capital, accounting, tax, and documentation considerations
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration capability
• A proactive mindset with a strong risk awareness
