Job summary

NSW Treasury seeks an Associate Director, Inclusion in the People and Talent team to lead the deployment and refinement of the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy across the organisation and beyond. You will drive roadmaps, frameworks and evaluation while fostering partnerships with Aboriginal communities, employees and government stakeholders.

You will provide expert policy guidance, prepare briefs for executive decision-making, and support reporting requirements to inform government

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, developing, delivering and evaluating diversity, inclusion and belonging strategies in a complex organisational environment.
• Experience developing culture, engagement, talent management and leadership development programs.
• Experience managing complex D&I programs with multi-level stakeholders.
• Experience developing First Nations employment and engagement initiatives.
• Inclusive leadership practices with ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience reporting on lead and lag indicators to track progress.
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

Your day as an Associate Director, Inclusion

Your day-to-day work will involve leading the implementation, evaluation and refinement of Treasury’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy, roadmaps, frameworks, policies and programs. You will lead work that supports sector-wide and departmental goals for diverse representation and helps attract and retain an engaged, high-performing and diverse workforce.

You will provide expert, evidence-based advice on government diversity policy positions, emerging issues and future trends. You will also prepare reports, briefs, correspondence and position papers that support executive decision‑making and meet agency and government reporting requirements.

Building trusted and collaborative relationships will be central to the role. You will work with employee representative groups, Aboriginal people and future colleagues, communities and entities, government agencies, central agencies and other stakeholders to share best practice, strengthen cultural capability and advance Treasury’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging priorities. This includes its Aboriginal Employment Strategy, Cultural Learning Strategy and RAP commitments.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Extensive experience designing, developing, delivering and evaluating diversity, inclusion and belonging strategies, programs and initiatives in a complex organisational environment.
• Extensive experience developing and implementing organisational culture, employee engagement, talent management, learning and leadership development strategies and programs.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives involving stakeholders across multiple levels of an organisation.
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering First Nations employment, cultural learning and engagement initiatives, with a deep understanding of First Nations cultures and the historical, economic and social factors impacting outcomes.
• Demonstrated inclusive leadership practices with the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals with vision and inspiration.
• Experience formulating and reporting on a range of lead and lag indicators to track embedded progress.
• Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience.
